  • Hand wash your mask in warm water with mild laundry detergent and a diluted antiseptic solution (such as Dettol or any other laundry approved disenfectant).
  • Do not use boiling water.
  • Do you not soak your mask overnight.
  • Do not Bleach.
  • Do not Tumble Dry.
  • Dry fully in natural sunlight.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention suggests washing clothing items using the warmest appropriate water setting and making sure to dry them completely. Also, clean and disinfect hampers and use a disposable bag liner if possible.

Anyone handling dirty laundry from someone who is sick should wear disposable gloves and then throw them out after each use. Also, be sure to wash your hands afterwards and avoid shaking dirty laundry to reduce the chances of dispersing the virus through the air.
