INTRODUCING MASKERADE

We're here, we've made it, we've stayed safe. As Kiwis we all need to play our part in the effort to protect our communities both now, and in the future.

Maskerade is a dash of practicality, mixed with a tonne of New Zealand spirit. We are all in this together, so let's smile and make it fun while we work to take care of each other. We are so very grateful and proud of all the dedicated Kiwis out there who took one for the team and isolated early during the Covid-19 pandemic. As a result we are now leading the world by example.

We are local Nelson residents who wanted to keep our spirits up while in isolation, and to provide some much needed comfort to our community. It's not about protecting ourselves, it's about protecting each other.

ABOUT OUR MASKS

It's important to note that our masks are not medical grade quality. There are a lot of mixed opinions out there about the use of face masks. For us, it's about having a little fun while also protecting those around us. Wear them to the supermarket or anywhere where you are worrying that you might end up coughing or sneezing close to someone else. Most importantly, clean them after each use, and don't share masks.

We have pre-washed all of our fabrics with an antiseptic solution that kills 99.9% of germs. We then spray each completed mask with another antiseptic solution, before putting them in a sealed plastic bag. Like you, we are hand washing on a regular basis too.

The exterior masks are fun printed fabric, and the interior are a polyamide non-woven fabric to help prevent the spread of germs from exiting the mask while wearing it.
